Daniela Ruocco:
En mi
imperio
perreo sola
Performance
Part of SOLO – Festival für künstlerische Alleingänge
Daniela Ruocco‘s performance delves into the world of reggaeton and reflects on the appropriation of this art form and the feminist debates surrounding it. What starts as an exclusive record baptism of the fictional character Consuela del Valle Grande, gradually turns into a surreal lecture performance and ends in a concert-like mass. Empowered by the words of feminist Latinx poetesses, the »comforter of the grand valley« throws her entire weight onto the theater stage. She creates glamorous, undreamed-of models that can be pasted into a feminist reggaeton album like Panini pictures.
Daniela Ruocco grew up in Germany, Uruguay and Italy. As an actress, performer and artistic director, Daniela works multilingually and across disciplines in various constellations. Daniela‘s main interest lies in performative formats and process-orientated working methods, whereby autonomous working structures are essential.
