Gianni Mae, who grew up in Curaçao, is regarded as the shooting star of the Berlin trap scene. She emanates female empowerment with a snotty attitude, without relying on straight feminist content. What counts is the natural way in which she makes use of a typical male genre to turn it into her own. Her debut EP ›Saucy‹, produced by the highly active producer duo Broke Boys has made a splash. Musical influences of her homeland lend the oftentimes straightforward trap aesthetic a refreshing portion of funk – Gianni does the shit her way!
