Rules

The House Rule ensure the operation of the Schwankhalle and apply to all users and visitors of the venue. They are binding in all spaces and the entire premises of the theater. The domiciliary right is enforced by the theater management and its staff.

Behavior in the Spaces

In the auditoriums, corridors and foyer of the theater, every visitor must behave in such a way that no other person is endangered, obstructed, harmed, threatened, or harassed. Harassment takes place when another person experiences a violation of their personal space against their will. Even unintentional actions can be perceived as harassment.

Instructions of the Staff

The instructions of the theater staff on duty must be followed at all times.

Security and Escape Routes

Escape and rescue routes must be kept clear at all times. Marked escape routes must be used in case of danger.

Forbidden Items

It is forbidden to bring weapons, fireworks, sharp or pointed objects, or other dangerous items onto the premises.

Animals in the Theater

It is prohibited to bring along animals in the theater spaces. There is an exception for assistance dogs.

Admission


Access to the event rooms is only allowed with a valid ticket.

Program Changes

The Schwankhalle reserves the right to make changes to programs and performance times that have already been printed or otherwise published.

Late Admission


Late admission is not possible after the performance has begun, unless the theater management permits this for artistic or organizational reasons.

Recordings

Photographs as well as film, video and audio recordings of performances or other artistic works at the Schwankhalle are only allowed with the express permission of the theater management. Our events are copyright-protected works.

Disclaimer of Liability

Refunds of paid admission due to the content of the performances are excluded. The Schwankhalle accepts no liability for damages arising from the content or quality of the performances shown.

Cloakroom

Coats, jackets and similar items can be stored in the cloakroom. The Schwankhalle accepts no liability for the loss, theft or damage of valuables or other items brought to the theater.

Advertising and Distribution of Materials

Distributing or displaying brochures, flyers, printed materials, promotional items, or other objects in the building or on the premises is prohibited without the express permission of the theater management.

Inscriptions and Stickers

It is prohibited to write on, paint or affix stickers to buildings, facilities or paths without permission.

Denial of Access

Visitors may be denied access to event venues if they behave inappropriately or if there is a suspicion that they will disrupt the performance or disturb others. In such cases, there is no entitlement to a refund of the admission fee.

Unacceptable Behavior

  • Discriminatory statements about the (perceived) origin, appearance, gender, sexual orientation, age, illness, disability, or (religious) beliefs. This includes statements made verbally, in writing, through signs, symbols or gestures.

  • The use of symbols or signs that can be attributed to an extreme rightwing worldview.

  • Discriminatory clothing or costumes.

  • Bringing weapons or dangerous objects onto the premises.

  • Threatening or using physical violence.

  • Theft or willful damage to property.

  • Insulting or verbally abusing staff, artists or other visitors.

Consequences of Violations

Serious violations of the House Rules will result in a warning, expulsion from the building or, in serious cases, a ban from the premises. Anyone who fails to comply with a request to leave the building will be reported for trespassing.
